Hi, I’m Dakyeom Ahn, "a person who loves humans"

I am a Product Designer at Kodebox, currently on leave from my master’s program at Seoul National University. My background in human-computer interaction (HCI) research — starting at KAIST KIXLAB under Dr. Juho Kim, and continuing at SNU HCI+D Lab with Dr. Hajin Lim — shapes how I approach design, grounded in research and empathy for users.

Before discovering HCI, I was selected as a Korean national skeet shooter, setting three national records as a junior player. After retiring, I designed a community app to help users build running habits. However, it was also my first UX design failure, which led me to HCI and sparked my passion for solving real-world problems.

Research taught me that good design starts with understanding — not just what users say, but what they actually do. I came to industry because I wanted to close the loop: from insight to shipped product, seeing research-informed decisions tested against reality.
